The Ithaca Ballet presents its annual showcase of contemporary works, including the world premiere of Byron Suber's
basic black and baby blue etudes
This pyrotechnically dazzling piece is set to music by Prokofiev.

Other pieces include a revival of Larry Brantley's Trip-Tic and Tilyou's Revenge; the pas de deux from Romeo & Juliet; and the beautiful neoclassical ballet, Barcarola Veneciana.

The Ithaca Ballet closes the season with the Ithaca premiere of the full-length romantic ballet Giselle. Choreographed by Marius Petipa and staged by Artistic Director Cindy Reid, Giselle has every thing needed for a romantic story -- a beautiful country girl, a nobleman, love, betrayal and forest spirits!
Gala Celebration
The Ithaca Ballet is proud to present a gala to celebrate its premiere of Giselle. Enjoy an evening of dinner, champagne and dance at the Holiday Inn Ithaca!

The Story of Babar
Saturday & Sunday, October 24-25 at 3:00 PM State Theatre in Ithaca, New York

Dancing elephants of all sizes and ages will take the state as we revive The Story of Babar with original choreography by Lavinia Reid. Based on the popular children's story by Jean de Brunoff, the ballet is set to narration by Peter Ustinov and the music of Francis Poulenc. Elaborately costumed by Ithaca Ballet founder Alice Reid, the ballet details Babar's odyssey from the city to his jungle home and is a true theatrical feast for the entire family.

The Nutcracker

Choreographed by Lavinia Reid, and set to the familiar Tchaikovsky score, Ithaca Ballet’s Nutcracker is a treat for the whole family and an Ithaca tradition. Children of all ages will delight in Clara's victory over the mice and her voyage to the Land of Sweets.  The performance in Geneva and the Friday night performance in Ithaca feature a live orchestra -- the Fingerlakes Symphony Orchestra .  These performances are made possible in part by the Cayuga Radio Group, the media sponsor for The Nutcracker

Friday, December 11, at 10:00 AM at the State Theatre in Ithaca - School Group Performance

For the second year, the Ithaca Ballet will perform The Nutcracker for school groups from outside of the Ithaca area, and for other special groups.  Tickets for this performance are available by presale only.  Contact Linda Warner (lw30@cornell.edu) for tickets and more information about this performance.

The Friday evening performance will feature live musical accompaniment by the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Diego Garcia. Tickets for the Friday performance are $2 more than the regular ticket price. Tickets are available at the State Theatre Box office.
